In the artist book about Elephant & Castle that created by us, it is told that a modern man found the elephant totem, and there is a story hidden in these totem. There was once a village where the villagers were often attacked by wild animals. Later, an elephant appeared and drove away all the wild animals. Finally, elephants were consecrated. And that’s what we think the Elephant & Castle came from.
The theme I chose was winter. For me, winter is cold, so the color of my character design is mainly blue. The character is a future new human. In the future, humans cannot withstand the cold due to evolution, so humans modify their bodies in order to adapt to the climate. The arms are machines for their own safety. The legs are liquid and act as a counterbalance to the outside temperature.
This is my first character design. During the drawing process, I referred to Minkyu Lee’s works and collected a large number of “machine” photos, and finally completed the design. However, my final work also has some shortcomings, my overall color is too single, the clothes are very simple. In the following study, I will make further adjustments and modifications.

In 2030, AI company produced the world’s first bionic AI companion robot.
In 2035, Jack buys a AI robot. Jack is a 35-year-old man who lives alone. He lives in a boring life. When his AI robot arrives, he activates the AI robot immediately.
It is too late.
The next day, Jack back home after work and see the robot is watching a movie and crying like a human. When the robot see him coming back, she walk over to him and kiss him like a wife. Jack becomes more and more suspicious, because the robots are not supposed have emotion.
He try to shut her down, but she thought he was going to destroy her. She attacks, and Jack stabs her with a kitchen knife in order to protect himself. Strangely, the robot is not stop. Instead, she bled red and looking at Jack in disappointment.
This has get to stop.
The police arrives, and analysis this AI robot. Then, the news that “there is a human in the robot ” shocked the whole world.
In sound 1, I added the sound of frying meat and bells. The idea of this animation is a robot wake up and blink by inserting the bun on her head. And then into her eyes, there is a planet world. Finally, the planet turn to a lollipop and broken.
The second animation tells the story of a rocket being launched which is shot down by a meteorite and breaks apart. At last a kitten ran into the picture.
The sound of a rocket launching is the sound of a washing machine rolling, the sound of a rocket breaking is the sound of a glass breaking. Finally, the cat’s running sound is treading on leaves.
The final animation is based on the melody of the music, (vertigo) to draw and the mainly based on the movement of lines.
Final Story
The process of a couple getting to know each other, getting married and growing old together in the same place. Along with different process, the color of the sky also changes. Blue represents faithful love, pink on behalf of a romantic wedding, and orange represents them walking from their best years to the end of the sunset.

Tuesday Workshop Exercises
My initial concept for this composition was to make a Science Fiction future world. The following three photos are my favorite photos and I use them to make the composition.
The reason why I choose them is that they all show a sense of sci-fi gleason.

These week we have 4 workshops on Traditional Animation and I learn about the 12 principle of traditional animation as well.
For the straight ahead animation, I drew a light change to a cat.
And the second is the change of face emotion. In this exercise, I drew my cat’s expressions and it is my favorite one. This is my first time to drew the animation on paper and use light box. I usually use An or Procreate to create animation, it is easy and convenient to use the electronic drawing tool , cause once a mistake occurs in the the process, it can be corrected at the end. But for traditional animation, once there is a mistake in the process, all the painting has to start again, so we must be very careful in the process of painting.
The third animation is “bouncing object”, my work is the fall and rise of the rocket.
The last one is debating character.
My theme of the AE animation is the tree’s life recycle. The tree grew slowly, and then the leaves became clouds, and then rain began to moisten the ground, and new buds began to grow again.
At the beginning, I couldn’t even get a line to move. But after studying in the New AE Workshop on Tuesday and on YouTube, I can draw curves, zoom in and out shapes and create audio effects using AE. Since this was my first AE project, I didn’t use very complicated special effects. I just use a simple set of changes in the shape and trim paths. But finally I completed the animation and express the theme.
